“The Weight of Regret: Isela’s Final Tears”

The sound of funeral trumpets echoed through the rain-soaked courtyard as mourners gathered around a golden coffin. Inside lay Isela, the 25-year-old daughter-in-law everyone adored — kind, gentle, and gone too soon after a tragic childbirth. Her mother-in-law, Doña Carmen, wept uncontrollably, unable to accept that the light of their home had vanished forever.

When pallbearers tried to lift the coffin, it refused to move — as if anchored by sorrow itself. The priest whispered, “Open it. She still has something to say.” Inside, Isela’s face glistened with tears that hadn’t dried. The sight sent shivers through the crowd, and Carmen sobbed beside her, begging forgiveness.

Then, her husband Luis broke down, confessing the truth: he had betrayed Isela with another woman. Her heartache and despair had driven her body past its limits. “It’s my fault,” he cried. “Forgive me.”

At that moment, the coffin trembled. The priest said softly, “She’s let go.” As the men lifted it easily, rain washed over Luis — and with every drop, his guilt sank deeper, reminding him that some forgiveness never comes in life… only in silence.
