‘Wheel of Fortune’ Player Wins $1M After Solving This Tough Puzzle

“Wheel of Fortune” Contestant Wins Historic $1 Million Prize

“Wheel of Fortune” delivered a record-breaking moment on Tuesday night when Christina Derevjanik of Connecticut became only the fifth contestant in the show’s long history to win the coveted $1 million prize — and she did it with confidence and speed.

Derevjanik had already secured the million-dollar wedge during regular gameplay, putting her in perfect position for a life-changing bonus round. Moments earlier, she even joked that such a win might inspire her to hand in her two-week notice at her marketing job.

A Perfect Solve Under Pressure

The bonus category, “Living Things,” gave her a promising start with the standard letters already on the board. Derevjanik selected M, C, F and A — just enough to illuminate the answer. The instant Ryan Seacrest began the countdown, she confidently shouted:

“Pack of coyotes!”

Her reaction was explosive. She screamed, jumped, then dissolved into tears and laughter as Seacrest revealed the million-dollar envelope. Confetti rained down as she hugged Seacrest and longtime co-host Vanna White, overwhelmed by the victory.

A Life-Changing Payout

Derevjanik later shared that her first goal is to pay off her student loans — a dream many viewers relate to. Speaking on Good Morning America, she said she plans to keep her current job for now, while also hoping to buy a new home.

With final winnings totaling $1,035,155, Derevjanik’s triumph marks the largest prize ever awarded on the show and the first million-dollar win under Ryan Seacrest’s tenure as host.

Her lightning-fast solve and calm composure secured her place in “Wheel of Fortune” history — and opened the door to an exciting new chapter in her life.
