A Minnesota contestant delivered one of the most unforgettable moments of the season after solving a Wheel of Fortune Bonus Round puzzle almost instantly. Delinda Rood, from Rosemount, Minnesota, appeared on the November 4 episode and quickly stole the spotlight. Competing against Justin Zamora from Palo Alto and Shateria Smith from Chattanooga, the self-described ambivert had a slow start before gaining momentum with one of the night’s quickest puzzle solves. Her breakthrough came when she buzzed in to claim the second toss-up puzzle, “Practical Joker,” securing her first $2,000.
The competition escalated as Zamora solved “Candy Girl You Are My World,” earning $12,549 and a trip to Norway. Smith also made a major move by landing the coveted One Million Dollar Wedge while solving “Summer & Boot Camp.” But after Smith stumbled on the next puzzle, Rood seized her chance, solving “Spoil Yourself At The Spa” and adding a Scottsdale vacation to her total. Her confidence grew as she dominated the triple toss-up round, winning two puzzles and ultimately clinching the main game by solving “A Tough Nut To Crack.”
With $20,650 heading into the Bonus Round, Rood chose the category “Around the House” with her husband and daughter cheering her on. After selecting M, V, K, and A, the puzzle revealed _ARM _ _ _LT. Before the timer could fully begin, she said with complete confidence, “Warm Quilt!” Host Ryan Seacrest was stunned, repeatedly asking if she had truly solved it instantly.
When Seacrest opened the envelope, he revealed Rood’s $45,000 prize, bringing her total winnings to $65,650. Her lightning-fast instincts, steady gameplay, and heartfelt nod to her mother-in-law created a standout moment that left the audience cheering — and solidified her status as one of the episode’s most memorable champions.
