Elon Musk Slams Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill” After Exit from DOGE
Just days after stepping down from the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), Elon Musk has publicly turned against President Trump, calling his newly passed “Big Beautiful Bill” a “disgusting abomination.”
“This bill is everything wrong with government,” Musk posted, blasting the legislation for ballooning the deficit and stripping key efficiency measures.
Passed narrowly on May 22, the bill grants temporary tax cuts, expands military spending, and tightens border security. But it also slashes Medicaid and SNAP benefits — moves that could impact millions of vulnerable Americans. Notably, it eliminates electric vehicle tax credits, dealing a direct blow to Tesla.
Insiders say that provision especially angered Musk, who previously supported Trump’s deregulation agenda but now sees the bill as a betrayal of innovation and sustainability.
Trump, however, touted the bill as a win, highlighting tax relief and reduced immigrant benefits while proudly rolling back Biden-era EV mandates.
Musk’s shift from insider to outspoken critic signals a major political rift — and a new era in his influence on Washington.
