Jon Bon Jovi hailed as ‘hero’ as he talks ‘distraught’ woman down from bridge

Jon Bon Jovi became an unexpected hero while filming a new music video in Nashville. The 62-year-old rock legend was working on Bon Jovi’s upcoming track, “The People’s House,” on the John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge when he noticed a woman in distress.

According to CCTV footage shared by the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department (MNPD), Jon — real name John Francis Bongiovi Jr. — quickly stepped away from his crew, accompanied by another woman, to approach the individual perched dangerously on the bridge ledge.

“Bon Jovi leaned on the railing, calmly speaking to her,” witnesses said. Together, they persuaded her to return to safety, ultimately helping her back over the railings.

Following the rescue, the MNPD posted on X (formerly Twitter), praising Jon’s actions: “It takes all of us to help keep each other safe,” quoted Chief John Drake.

Jon’s compassionate response is credited to his experience with the JBJ Soul Foundation, which supports those facing homelessness and hunger.

Fans hailed him online: “My hero, not just as a musician, but as a human being.”
