California Teen Found Dead Near Anderson Lake — Police Search for Boyfriend
Authorities are actively searching for 21-year-old Martin Mendoza, named a person of interest in the death of 18-year-old Marissa DiNapoli, whose body was found July 2 near Anderson Lake County Park in Santa Clara County.
Marissa had been reported missing on June 29 after her family lost contact following a June 28 text stating she’d be staying with a friend. Surveillance footage later confirmed she left a residence with Mendoza on June 29 — but Mendoza returned alone. Her car was discovered parked at the same location.
The victim’s body, severely decomposed, was identified by the Santa Clara County Coroner on July 3. According to friends, Marissa had previously expressed fear of Mendoza, stating she believed he might harm her.
Mendoza has refused to cooperate with investigators and is currently at large. He may be driving a white Toyota Camry with California plates CW87W00 or 9PTM351.
Authorities urge anyone with information or sightings to contact local law enforcement immediately. Marissa’s family requests privacy as they mourn her loss.
