Sofía Vergara Honored With Statue in Hometown of Barranquilla
Sofía Vergara has officially become larger than life—literally! The beloved actress and Modern Family star was honored with a stunning 24-foot bronze statue in her hometown of Barranquilla, Colombia, on her 53rd birthday.
Vergara shared several photos of the tribute on Instagram, writing, “Thank you to my beautiful Barranquilla for this gift! I never imagined my story and dreams would leave such a meaningful mark on the land I love so much.”
Sculpted by local artist Yino Márquez, the statue was unveiled on July 10 in a festive celebration. Though Sofía couldn’t attend the ceremony, she spent the weekend celebrating with close friends and family in Sardinia, Italy, posting party snapshots with her son Manolo and pals like Anastasia Soare and Valentina Micchetti.
“This statue isn’t just for me,” she added. “It’s for my family, my friends, and all Barranquilleros. I love you all!”
Barranquilla’s mayor praised Vergara’s spirit during the unveiling, saying, “Barranquilla thanks you for being you.”
Meanwhile, romance rumors swirl around Sofía and Tom Brady, though Brady’s team shut down gossip that he found her “too old,” calling it “pure fiction.”
