Chaos at 35,000 Feet: EasyJet Passenger Arrested Mid-Flight
On July 27, 2025, a man caused panic aboard an EasyJet flight traveling from Luton, England, to Glasgow, Scotland. Mid-flight, the man stood up in the aisle shouting “Death to America, death to Trump” and “Allahu Akbar,” alarming passengers and crew alike.
Quick-thinking passengers tackled the individual, pinning him down until the plane safely landed in Glasgow. Police arrested the man on arrival and confirmed the situation was contained with no further threats. Footage of the incident quickly went viral, prompting counter-terrorism officials to review the video.
Despite EasyJet’s official statement applauding their crew’s response, many online noted it was the passengers who took action first.
The suspect is scheduled to appear in Paisley Sheriff Court on July 28.
Tragedy in Dhaka: Military Jet Crashes Into School
Just six days earlier, a Bangladesh Air Force F-7 BGI training jet crashed into Milestone School and College in Dhaka on July 21, 2025. The crash occurred during school hours, killing at least 19 people and injuring dozens more, including students.
Eyewitness videos showed thick black smoke and terrified children fleeing the scene. Emergency crews and locals rushed in to carry the injured—many of them bleeding or burned—into makeshift transports due to a lack of ambulances.
Officials say the jet, which took off at 13:06 local time, suffered a mechanical failure shortly after takeoff. Tragically, the pilot, who attempted to divert the jet away from populated areas, was among the dead.
With 48 still critically injured and widespread grief gripping the nation, Bangladesh declared July 22 a national day of mourning.
