Trump Claims New Title: “President of Europe”
Donald Trump has revealed that he’s been given a surprising new title — one that sparked major reactions worldwide. Already known as a businessman, a former U.S. president, and a controversial figure in global diplomacy, Trump now says European leaders have begun calling him the “President of Europe.”
The announcement comes at a critical moment, as the Russia–Ukraine conflict continues to dominate world politics. Earlier this month, Trump met with Vladimir Putin in Alaska on August 15 to discuss the possibility of a cease-fire. Although no agreement was reached, Trump told reporters, “We have a very good chance of getting there.”
Days later, on August 18, he hosted Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and several European leaders at the White House for further talks on peace efforts. Following these meetings, Trump claimed Europe jokingly gave him the honorary title.
Speaking on August 25, Trump called it an honor, saying: “I like Europe and I like those people. Their leaders are excellent.”
