Husband Forces Wife to Sign Divorce Papers in Hospital—But He’s the One Abandoned
The 7th floor of a private hospital was silent, broken only by the steady beep of a heart monitor. Hanh, weak after thyroid surgery, slowly opened her eyes—only to see her husband Khai standing coldly at her bedside with a stack of papers.
“Sign here,” he said flatly. “Divorce papers.”
Still groggy from anesthesia, Hanh’s throat ached as she whispered, “Is this… a joke?” But Khai remained unmoved. “I don’t want to live with a sick woman. I have someone else now.”
Tears slipped down her cheeks, but she smiled faintly. “So this is the moment you chose… when I can’t even fight back?” Without protest, she signed. “Wish you happiness,” she said softly.
Minutes later, Dr. Quan—her college friend and surgeon—entered with flowers and an envelope. It held her own prepared divorce petition. Calmly, Hanh signed again. “From now on, I’ll live for myself,” she declared.
A week later, Khai received the decree with a note:
“The one left behind isn’t me—it’s you.”
