Simon Baker, Rachel Ward Shine at YWCA’s Glamorous “Mother of All Balls”
Simon Baker brought star power to the red carpet at YWCA NSW’s Mother of All Black & White Balls, held at Sydney Town Hall on 30 May 2015. When asked by red carpet host Brandon Voight what drew him to the event, Baker responded warmly:
“I was invited by lovely friends of ours, Rachel Ward and Bryan Brown, and we’re always happy to help out.”
Inspired by Truman Capote’s iconic 1966 Black and White Ball, this modern version dazzled with nearly 500 attendees from Sydney’s elite social and corporate circles. The event was hosted by YWCA NSW Patron Rachel Ward AM, with speeches by CEO Anna Bligh and NSW Premier Mike Baird.
YWCA NSW, a nonprofit devoted to empowering women, youth, and families, uses proceeds from this event to fund critical mentoring and support programs.
Despite public commentary on her changing looks, many praised Rachel Ward, 66, for her grace and timeless elegance—proving true beauty evolves, but never fades.
