A four-month-old puppy named Mojo was found abandoned, starving, and suffering from a severe scabies infection that covered his small body in sores. His future looked bleak until his path crossed with Joey Wagner, an employee of the Baie Ste. Marie Animal Society in Nova Scotia, Canada. Seeing Mojo’s desperate condition in 2013, Joey knew he had to act immediately to save the puppy’s life.
Joey rushed Mojo to a veterinarian for urgent medical care, beginning a long and difficult recovery. Through dedicated treatment, Mojo’s health gradually improved, but a significant challenge remained: finding him a safe and permanent loving home. The puppy had made incredible progress, yet he needed a family to offer him the security and affection he had always been denied.
The moment finally arrived when Mojo was ready to be adopted. In a deeply moving reunion, it was Joey himself who arrived to take Mojo home. The puppy’s joyful recognition of his rescuer was immediate and profound, resulting in an emotional kiss-and-hug greeting that showed Mojo had never forgotten the man who saved him.
Today, Mojo thrives in his forever home with Joey and his family. Their story is a powerful testament to resilience, compassion, and the unforgettable bond formed through rescue and second chances. Mojo’s difficult beginning has been transformed into a life filled with the love he always deserved.
