Air India Tragedy: Pilot’s Haunting Final Words Before Fatal Crash
In a devastating aviation disaster, Air India Flight AI171 crashed just 30 seconds after takeoff from Ahmedabad Airport, claiming 241 lives. The Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, carrying 242 passengers and crew, lost power shortly after departure and plummeted into a nearby medical hostel, killing several on the ground.
The lone survivor, 40-year-old British citizen Vishwash Kumar Ramesh, remains hospitalized with serious injuries. The crash claimed the lives of 169 Indian nationals, 53 British, 7 Portuguese, and 1 Canadian.
Tragically, the pilots’ final transmission revealed the chaos onboard:
“Mayday… no thrust, losing power, unable to lift.”
Captain Sumeet Sabharwal, with 8,200 flight hours, and co-pilot Clive Kundar, with 1,100 hours, made a desperate call moments before impact.
This marks the first-ever fatal crash involving a Boeing 787 aircraft, raising serious concerns over mechanical failure. Authorities are now focused on analyzing recovered black box data to determine the cause.
Our hearts go out to the families affected by this catastrophic loss.
