Joe Biden Completes Major Cancer Treatment, Daughter Shares Emotional Update
Former President Joe Biden has completed a critical stage of treatment for an aggressive form of prostate cancer that had spread to his bones, his family confirmed.
The news came from his daughter, Ashley Biden, who shared a heartfelt Instagram post on Monday. “Rung the bell! Thank you to the incredible doctors, nurses, and staff at Penn Medicine. We are so grateful. Dad has been so damn brave throughout his treatment,” she wrote, marking the emotional milestone with a short video.
Ringing the bell is a time-honored tradition symbolizing strength and hope for cancer patients completing a major round of therapy. A Biden spokesperson later confirmed he had finished a course of radiation treatment, though doctors are still evaluating next steps.
Diagnosed in May with a Gleason score of 9, one of the most aggressive prostate cancers, Biden underwent a combination of radiation and hormone therapy. Despite the serious diagnosis, the 82-year-old has remained in good spirits, supported by his family and faith.
While his long-term outlook remains uncertain, messages of encouragement have poured in from across the nation. As Ashley said, her father continues to fight “with unbelievable courage and heart.”
