Bullied for His Teeth, This Boy’s Life Changed Thanks to Kind Strangers
We teach kids not to mock others for their looks — yet bullying over appearance is still heartbreakingly common. Just ask Evan Hill, a young boy from New Zealand who was cruelly nicknamed “rabbit boy” due to his prominent front teeth.
The teasing wasn’t just hurtful — Evan had real difficulty closing his mouth. Sadly, his family couldn’t afford the costly dental surgery he desperately needed.
That changed when a local magazine shared Evan’s story. The public response was overwhelming. Strangers across the country came together, launching a fundraiser to help give Evan a second chance at confidence.
“I don’t know where we would be without the generosity we had,” his mother told Newshub.
Hundreds donated, fully covering Evan’s surgery. And when the medical costs were met, the Hill family donated the extra funds to a charity that helps other children access life-changing procedures.
Today, Evan is nearly unrecognizable — smiling, confident, and full of life. His transformation is a reminder of what can happen when a community stands up for kindness.
Share his story. You could inspire someone to make a difference.
