Pop icon Britney Spears was unexpectedly mentioned in court during Sean “Diddy” Combs’ ongoing trial. Diddy, 55, is facing serious charges, including sex trafficking, racketeering, and coercion. His ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura, who dated the rapper for a decade, took the stand this week for a cross-examination that may extend into Friday.

During her testimony, Cassie recalled her 21st birthday party in Las Vegas, which Diddy threw for her. “He invited Britney Spears and Dallas Austin to the celebration,” she said. At the time, Cassie was signed to Diddy’s label and stated their relationship was strictly professional—until that night when he kissed her, leaving her “confused.”

Text messages shown in court highlighted disturbing conversations, including alleged threats and references to “Freak Offs.”

Diddy has been held in custody since his 2023 arrest, with all bail requests denied. Cassie, now pregnant with her third child, is expected to return to court Monday for redirect questioning by prosecutors.

“That’s the exact opposite of what I was told,” the judge remarked amid delays.
