Doctor injects half her husband’s face with Botox to show difference

Dr. Katie Beleznay set out to give her followers a clear, real-time look at how Botox works—so she used an unusually cooperative volunteer: her husband, Ben. As a cosmetic dermatologist who often shares skincare advice online, she knows many people are curious about injectable treatments but want to see visible proof rather than rely on explanations alone. For this demonstration, she injected only the right side of Ben’s face, deliberately creating temporary asymmetry to highlight the contrast. Although the result left him looking uneven for a short time, Ben gladly played the role of “social media assistant” to help his wife break down a procedure millions consider each year.

In her YouTube tutorial, Dr. Beleznay explained that neuromodulators like Botox safely and temporarily relax targeted muscles, reducing wrinkles and softening expressions that deepen over time. She treated several precise areas on Ben, including his forehead, frown lines, crow’s feet, lower eyelid “jelly roll,” the DAO muscle that pulls the mouth downward, and the platysma bands in the neck. Each injection point was chosen to show how strategic placement—not simply quantity—determines natural-looking results.

Two weeks later, the transformation was undeniable. When Ben smiled, the crow’s feet on the treated side were noticeably smoother, and his eye appeared more open. Raising his brows revealed fewer creases, and the treated forehead looked significantly more relaxed. Even small expressions, like mouth movements or grimacing, showed a clear difference between the two sides. Dr. Beleznay emphasized that these subtle refinements are exactly what patients seek: a fresher, rested appearance without dramatically altering their features.

Viewers quickly flocked to the video, praising its clarity and honesty. Many said they finally understood how Botox works after seeing just half a face treated. Dr. Beleznay joked that if the demonstration helped others learn, then Ben’s temporary lopsided look was “worth it.” Their experiment echoes similar one-sided Botox tests performed by other doctors, reinforcing how powerful—and precise—this treatment can be when used skillfully.
