Trump Accuses Beyoncé, Oprah of Illegal Payments—But FEC Records Tell a Different Story
Former President Donald Trump ignited a political firestorm after alleging on Truth Social that Beyoncé, Oprah Winfrey, and Rev. Al Sharpton illegally received millions to endorse Kamala Harris’ presidential campaign. Trump claimed Beyoncé was paid $11 million for a brief rally appearance, accusing the Harris campaign of “paying for endorsements,” which he labeled “completely illegal.”
“These celebrities were paid to do nothing at all,” Trump wrote, demanding criminal charges despite offering no evidence.
However, Kamala Harris’ campaign swiftly denied the claims. “There is absolutely no truth to the $11 million rumor,” a spokesperson said. Beyoncé, speaking at an October 2024 rally, emphasized, “I’m not here as a celebrity—I’m here as a mother.”
Federal Election Commission (FEC) filings do not support Trump’s claims. While Beyoncé’s Parkwood Entertainment received about $165,000, it was reportedly for production services. Oprah’s Harpo Productions received ~$1 million, and Sharpton’s National Action Network got ~$500,000 for organizing a Michigan livestream—not personal endorsements.
No official investigations have been announced, and no wrongdoing has been proven. For now, Trump’s allegations remain politically explosive—but factually unverified.
