Is Donald Trump in Declining Health? A Doctor Raises Concerns About Possible Dementia

Despite official reports declaring Donald Trump in “excellent” health, new concerns are surfacing — including claims from medical professionals who suggest otherwise.

In April, White House physician Dr. Sean Barbabella reported that Trump was “fully fit” to serve, citing robust cardiac, pulmonary, and neurological health. He noted that Trump, standing 6’3″ and weighing 224 pounds, had undergone a colonoscopy in 2024, which revealed diverticulitis and a benign polyp. He also takes medication for cholesterol, heart health, and a skin condition.

But not everyone is convinced.

“There are signs of motor and cognitive decline,” said Dr. John Gartner, a psychologist and former Johns Hopkins professor. Speaking on The Dean Obeidallah Show, Gartner suggested Trump may show symptoms of frontotemporal dementia, pointing to noticeable changes in coordination and gait — particularly a right-leg swing neurologists call “diagnostic.”

“He used to be athletic. Now he stumbles, trips, and shows signs of physical regression,” Gartner warned.

While Trump maintains he’s in peak condition — even boasting about acing a cognitive test — experts argue that public footage and subtle physical cues might tell another story.

So the question remains: Is the former president’s health as strong as claimed?
