Trump Responds to Question About Pardoning Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs
Sean “Diddy” Combs is currently on trial in New York, facing five serious charges including sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy, and transportation for prostitution. The music mogul has pleaded not guilty.
The trial has seen emotional testimonies from his ex-girlfriend Cassie, rapper Kid Cudi, and a male escort known as The Punisher. Earlier this week, a judge denied a mistrial request after Diddy’s legal team accused prosecutors of implying interference in Cudi’s investigation involving his firebombed Porsche.
At a recent press conference, former President Donald Trump was asked whether he would pardon Diddy if convicted. His response was measured:
“Nobody’s asked, but I know people are thinking about it… I haven’t been watching it too closely,” Trump said. “If I think someone was mistreated, whether they like me or not, it wouldn’t affect my decision.”
Trump’s comments follow recent pardons for reality stars Todd and Julie Chrisley and rapper NBA YoungBoy, who said, “I want to thank President Trump for giving me another chance.”
