Former President Donald Trump is under fire after sharing an AI-generated video depicting himself as “King Trump” flying over protesters — a move that has enraged critics and reignited political tensions across the U.S.
The clip, posted on Truth Social on October 19, came just hours after the “No Kings” marches, which took place in more than 2,500 cities nationwide. Demonstrators rallied against what they called Trump’s “authoritarian power grab,” holding signs reading “Democracy, Not Monarchy” and “The Constitution Is Not Optional.”
Set to Kenny Loggins’ 1986 hit “Danger Zone,” the video shows Trump piloting a jet, wearing a crown, and dropping mock waste on protesters — a stunt many called “offensive” and “unpresidential.” On Reddit, one user wrote, “Imagine any other president doing this.”
Republican leaders, including House Speaker Mike Johnson, dismissed the protests as “Hate America rallies.” Meanwhile, the No Kings coalition accused Johnson of deflecting from the ongoing government shutdown, saying Americans are “uniting for democracy, not for kings.”
Trump, when asked about the controversy on Fox News, insisted, “I’m not a king.” But for many, the viral video tells a very different story.
