Ivana Pino Arellano, affectionately known as “La Rancherita de Chanco,” tragically passed away in a car accident just one day after celebrating her 32nd birthday. The crash occurred on the M-80 road near Pelluhe, Chile, when her vehicle overturned due to heavy rain. Arellano was pronounced dead at the scene, while her companion suffered serious injuries.
Photos from the site show the wrecked car overturned and covered with an orange sheet, marking a heartbreaking end for a beloved artist and mother of four. Arellano was widely admired for blending traditional Latin American music with modern influences, earning her a loyal following across Chile.
The Municipality of Chanco confirmed her death, honoring her with the words: “Ivana personified the spirit of public service with passion and love. Your departure leaves a void that cannot be filled, but your legacy will endure.”
Her funeral was held on June 17 at the Curanipe Parish Cemetery, where family, friends, and fans gathered to say goodbye. “Thank you, Ivana, for filling our days with light and happiness,” the Municipality wrote in tribute.
