Trump Caught on Hot Mic Talking About Putin Deal

Former U.S. President Donald Trump has once again stirred headlines—this time after being caught on a hot mic during a White House summit. While chatting with French President Emmanuel Macron, Trump was overheard whispering about Russian President Vladimir Putin and the possibility of a deal to end the war in Ukraine.

“I think he wants to make a deal,” Trump said quietly. “I think he wants to make a deal for me. Do you understand? As crazy as it sounds.”

The remark came just days after Trump’s Alaska meeting with Putin, where the two discussed ending Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. While no ceasefire was reached, Trump insisted progress had been made. On August 18, he welcomed Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and several European leaders to the White House for further talks.

According to Trump, Putin is considering territorial concessions—but only if Ukraine agrees to cede some land, a condition Kyiv strongly opposes. Still, Trump announced he is working to arrange a three-way meeting between himself, Putin, and Zelenskyy. “After the meeting takes place,” Trump said, “we will have a trilateral with the two presidents plus myself.”

He also floated the idea of international security guarantees for Ukraine, though he clarified this wouldn’t include NATO membership.

For now, the optimism remains fragile. With Russia’s invasion grinding into its fourth year, the world is left waiting to see if Trump’s confidence translates into a real peace deal.
