My Father Abandoned Me as a Child and I Took Revenge on Him – Story of the Day

Amanda’s Revenge Plan Turns into a Heartbreaking Reunion

Amanda grew up without her father, Robert, who abandoned the family when she was an infant. Raised by her mother and later the foster system, Amanda carried years of bitterness. But when she saw a newspaper photo of Robert with his new, much-younger fiancée, Clara, it reignited her pain—and inspired a plan for revenge.

Fueled by resentment, Amanda snuck into her father’s house and planted a single earring on his bed. Hours later, she showed up at the door pretending to be his secret lover. Her goal? To destroy his relationship. Clara believed the lie, called off the wedding, and Amanda walked away, satisfied—until she learned days later that Robert had still married Clara in a lavish ceremony.

That’s when her mother’s words echoed in her heart:
“Anger is a heavy stone, Amanda. You have to let it go.”

Haunted by guilt, Amanda returned to confront Robert—not with rage, but with truth. She revealed who she was and demanded to know why he left.

Robert broke down. His absence hadn’t been out of hate, but shame and fear. He explained the struggles that followed his cowardice, how guilt had stopped him from coming back. Amanda, overwhelmed by emotion, finally forgave him.

“I can’t carry this anger anymore,” she whispered. “It’s too heavy.”

They sat, hand in hand, two wounded hearts trying to heal.

Sometimes revenge doesn’t bring peace—truth and forgiveness do.
