How I Taught My Neighbor a Lesson About Parking in My Driveway
When my neighbor Peter kept parking in my driveway despite my warnings, I knew I had to take action.
I’m Jake, 30, a marketing professional who recently bought my first house in a quiet neighborhood. At first, Peter seemed like a friendly neighbor, inviting me over for dinner and chatting whenever we met. But soon, small annoyances began—he trimmed my bushes without asking and, worst of all, repeatedly parked his car in my driveway.
Every time I confronted him, he apologized but kept doing it. After months of frustration, I decided to teach him a lesson. Before leaving for a weekend trip, I parked my car in Peter’s driveway, blocking both his vehicles.
His frantic texts didn’t bother me—I simply reminded him, “Neighbors should help each other out.” When I returned, Peter hadn’t parked in my driveway again.
Sometimes, standing up firmly is the only way to make people respect your boundaries.
“My driveway is mine again, and I couldn’t be happier about it.”
