Who Is the Bald Man in the Fever Huddle? Caitlin Clark’s Secret Weapon Revealed
Caitlin Clark may not be at full strength since returning from injury, but the Indiana Fever are gaining momentum—winning two of their last three games, including victories over Atlanta and Dallas to improve to 11-10.
Recently, a viral photo sparked confusion on social media. It showed a bald man addressing Fever players during a game, leading one user to question:
“Why is the team’s sports psychologist in the huddle mid-game?”
The man in question is Ben Newman, a longtime mental performance coach for the Fever. Though not officially titled a psychologist, Newman focuses on the mental side of performance—helping athletes manage pressure, build focus, and recover from setbacks.
With over a decade of experience with the Fever, and a client list that includes NFL and UFC athletes, Newman’s courtside presence is no accident. He’s helped shape a team culture that’s emotionally resilient—especially important for a young roster led by Clark.
As one fan put it: “He probably could do a better job coaching, honestly.”
And judging by the Fever’s results, it’s working.
