Celebrity Chef Anne Burrell Passes Away at 55

The culinary world is mourning the sudden loss of beloved chef and TV personality Anne Burrell, who died unexpectedly at the age of 55. She was found unresponsive in her Brooklyn home on June 17, 2025. Authorities have confirmed her passing, with the cause of death still under investigation pending an autopsy.

Born on September 21, 1969, Anne was a New York native who developed a passion for food early in life, inspired by her mother and the iconic Julia Child. Best known for hosting Worst Cooks in America and Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on the Food Network, she brought energy, authenticity, and humor to every kitchen she entered.

“Cooking should be fun, fearless, and flavorful,” Anne once said—a mantra she lived by.

Anne is survived by her husband Stuart Claxton, their children, and extended family. Married in 2021, the couple built a loving life in Brooklyn. Anne’s impact on home cooks and aspiring chefs will continue to inspire for generations.
