PDA on a Plane Sparks Outrage: “It Was Four Hours of Disrespect”
A Ryanair flight to Greece turned awkward when a couple seated next to a woman indulged in excessive PDA for the entire four-hour journey.
TikTok user Harry Marjoram documented the incident in a post that has now racked up over 9.8 million views. In the video, he joked, “When my Slavic girlfriend, who hates PDA, meets the PDA Final Boss on a 4-hour flight to Greece!!”
Seated apart in aisle seats, Marjoram and his girlfriend watched uncomfortably as the middle and window-seat passengers next to her got far too affectionate. Many commenters agreed the couple’s behavior crossed a line.
“It’s not even PDA. It’s a complete disrespect for someone else’s space,” one viewer wrote.
Others echoed similar frustration, labeling the moment embarrassing, rude, and unnecessary. While a few defended the lovebirds, most sided with the annoyed couple.
Cultural norms do vary: in parts of Asia and the Middle East, PDA is frowned upon or even punishable. But in Latin America, affection in public is more common, especially in densely populated cities like Mexico City — where privacy at home is rare.
This led some to wonder: Was the affectionate couple Latin?
Regardless, the viral moment has sparked a larger debate about boundaries, personal space, and respect while traveling.
“Public affection is one thing,” said one commenter. “Making others part of it? That’s just inconsiderate.”
