Trump Claims “Sabotage” Over UN Technical Glitches
President Donald Trump expressed frustration after encountering multiple technical issues during his recent UN General Assembly speech in New York City. Problems included a stalled escalator, teleprompter malfunctions, and audio issues, prompting him to post warnings on Truth Social about a potential conspiracy.
While riding an escalator, Trump and Melania were forced to walk after it stopped unexpectedly. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt suggested the issue may have been intentional, citing a report from The Times of London in which UN staff allegedly joked about cutting escalator power.
UN spokesperson Stephane Dujarric clarified the escalator stopped due to a safety mechanism triggered accidentally. Regarding the teleprompter, Dujarric stated it was managed by the White House.
Trump called the incidents “triple sabotage” and announced the Secret Service would investigate. “This wasn’t a coincidence… the people that did it should be arrested!” he wrote.
Online reactions were swift, with one user mocking, “Perfect example of first world problems,” while another called Trump “the most fragile man alive.”
