Urgent Recall: Popular Tec Italy Shampoo Pulled from Shelves Due to Bacteria Risk
U.S. consumers are being warned about a dangerous shampoo recall involving over 1,000 bottles of a high-end salon product. Henkel Capital S.A. de C.V., based in Mexico, has voluntarily recalled 1,068 units of Tec Italy Shampoo Totale after lab tests uncovered contamination with Klebsiella oxytoca, a harmful bacteria that can cause serious skin infections.
“Exposure to this bacteria poses the greatest risk to individuals with compromised immune systems,” authorities stated.
How to Spot the Recalled Product
The affected shampoo comes in a green 1-liter (33.81 fl. oz.) bottle. Look for Lot #1G27542266 and UPC 7501438375850 printed on the side. Although primarily distributed in California and New York, this product may have reached other states through third-party sellers.
Henkel, known for its extensive beauty brand portfolio, acted swiftly after internal microbiological testing confirmed contamination. What was once a trusted salon staple now raises serious safety concerns.
“Consumers should stop using the product immediately and check for recalls,” officials urge.
