President Trump’s Golf Outing Stuns Internet After People Realize Who He’s Playing Against

Tiger Woods Plays a Round With Donald Trump Ahead of His PGA Tour Comeback

As Tiger Woods prepares for one of the most anticipated returns in modern golf, the 15-time major champion spent his Sunday morning on the course with former President Donald Trump in South Florida. Multiple reports confirmed by the White House say the two teed off at Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach.

The outing comes just days before Woods competes at Torrey Pines, marking his first official PGA Tour event since The Open. Trump, meanwhile, is scheduled to attend the Super Bowl in New Orleans later the same day.

Woods, an eight-time winner at Torrey Pines—including his unforgettable 2008 U.S. Open victory—will also play next week’s Genesis Invitational. Originally slated for Riviera Country Club, the event was relocated to Torrey Pines’ South Course following the recent Palisades fire. Woods has not completed a full 72-hole tournament since the 2024 Masters.

PGA–Saudi Talks Bring Woods’ Name Into the Spotlight

Woods’ involvement was rumored during the latest negotiations between the PGA Tour and Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund. Last week, Trump met with PGA Tour Commissioner Jay Monahan and player director Adam Scott in Washington, D.C. While official statements did not include Woods, flight records suggest his private jet briefly landed in D.C. before heading to Florida.

The PGA Tour later thanked Trump for helping bring talks “closer to a final deal,” calling it an important step toward reunifying men’s professional golf.

Personal Loss for Woods

Amid the busy stretch, Woods shared heartbreaking news: the passing of his mother, Kultida Woods, at age 80. He honored her as his “biggest fan” and acknowledged her unwavering support throughout his career. Trump also expressed condolences, praising Kultida’s influence on Woods’ life and legacy.

The two golf icons share a long-standing friendship, strengthened both on and off the course.
