She was ‘Laurie’ from ‘The Partridge Family’ show. A true beauty. This is her now, at 71 years old

Born on December 10, 1952, in Pekin, Illinois, Susan Dey grew up with strength shaped by early loss—her mother passed away when she was just eight. After moving to New York City, Dey’s striking looks led her into modeling as a teen, appearing in major ads and magazines before transitioning to acting.

Her breakthrough came in 1970 with The Partridge Family, where she starred as Laurie Partridge, the wholesome, musically gifted daughter. The hit sitcom made Dey a 1970s pop culture icon and beloved household name.

Determined to evolve beyond her teen idol image, Dey took on more mature roles in films like Mary Jane Harper Cried Last Night (1977) and Looker (1981). Her defining career moment came with L.A. Law (1986–1994), where she played attorney Grace Van Owen, earning a Golden Globe and multiple Emmy nominations.

Now largely private, Dey focuses on her family and philanthropy, especially mental health advocacy. Her legacy endures as a symbol of resilience, talent, and the rare ability to gracefully grow from child star to respected Hollywood actress.
