Instant Karma? Brittney Griner’s Viral Outburst at Caitlin Clark Sparks Backlash
Brittney Griner of the Atlanta Dream has landed in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons after a viral video appeared to show her hurling insults at Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark. Fans are now calling it “instant karma,” as the WNBA faces mounting pressure to address the controversy.
The uproar comes just days after the league launched an investigation into alleged “hateful comments” toward Angel Reese, which were ultimately proven false. Indiana Gov. Mike Braun and Sen. Jim Banks have since demanded an apology to Fever fans.
Yet, while those claims were dismissed, the Griner clip has ignited debate. In the footage, many believe Griner called Clark “trash” and a “f—ing white girl” after fouling out. Others argue she was targeting the referee’s call instead.
Braun weighed in, saying: “Caitlin has done so much for the league. You ought to be grateful, not throwing around comments.”
With Clark selling out arenas and elevating women’s basketball, many wonder why the WNBA has stayed silent.
