Social Media Thinks WNBA Veterans Are “Terrified” Of Caitlin Clark After Shocking Footage Surfaces From All-Star Game

Caitlin Clark’s Dominance Sparks Fear Among WNBA Peers

Social media is abuzz with the belief that Caitlin Clark’s WNBA peers are “terrified” of her following some intriguing footage from Saturday’s WNBA All-Star Game.

All-Star Game Highlights

The 2024 WNBA All-Star Game took place at the Footprint Center in Phoenix, Arizona. Team WNBA triumphed over Team USA with a score of 117-109. Caitlin Clark, the first overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft, played a pivotal role, recording four points and 10 assists in 26 minutes. A standout moment from the game featured Las Vegas Aces guard Kelsey Plum playing intense defense on Clark, reminiscent of a playoff match rather than an exhibition. This viral clip fueled fans’ speculations that WNBA veterans are “terrified and/or jealous” of Clark.

Caitlin Clark’s Impressive Stats

Clark, at just 22, has exceeded expectations as the top pick in the 2024 draft. She’s averaging 17.1 points, 5.8 rebounds, 8.2 assists, and 1.5 steals per game in her first 26 contests, with a shooting percentage of 40.5 from the field.

Fever’s Playoff Hopes

With the league on an Olympic break, the Indiana Fever have three weeks off before returning to face the Phoenix Mercury on August 16. The Fever haven’t made the playoffs since 2016 and haven’t won a playoff series or finished above .500 in nine years. Since 2017, Indiana has not surpassed 13 wins in a single season.

However, the playoff drought seems likely to end in 2024. At the Olympic break, the Fever sit at 11-15, three games ahead of the Atlanta Dream (7-17) for the final playoff spot. Indiana is tied with the Chicago Sky (10-14) for the No. 8 seed and is only 2.5 games behind the Mercury for the No. 6 seed. The Fever have a clear path to climb up the standings during their postseason push.

Future Prospects

Caitlin Clark’s performance has reinvigorated the Fever and given them a legitimate shot at breaking their postseason drought. As the league resumes after the Olympic break, all eyes will be on Clark and her ability to lead the Fever to a successful playoff run.
