South Carolina Teen Beauty Queen Arrested for Forging Medical Notes
Madison Cox, 17, a South Carolina beauty queen crowned Miss Spartanburg International and later Miss South Carolina Teen International, was arrested for allegedly forging medical notes to explain absences from Byrnes High School, WSPA reports.
Authorities said Cox used a notepad from Parris Family Chiropractic to create the notes, though the clinic confirmed she was never treated on the dates she claimed and was even closed on some of those days. Details about the content and number of forged notes have not been released.
Cox appeared unbothered by the arrest, posting on Twitter before deleting her messages: “Did they really just put me on the news BC I went to jail for a DOCTORS NOTE???” She later reflected, “I’ve got to learn to stop being so childish and keep my mouth closed,” and added sarcastically, “It’s sad that I’m the only entertainment in y’alls lives.”
The incident has sparked a mix of shock and amusement online, highlighting how even pageant stars can find themselves in unexpected legal trouble over seemingly small actions.
