Tensions are rising behind the scenes at ABC’s The View, where co-hosts are reportedly being encouraged to soften their criticism of President Donald Trump amid network-wide layoffs. According to insiders, executive producer Brian Teta asked the panel to be more cautious when discussing the 47th president, a request that surfaced shortly before Trump’s inauguration. While the show continues to perform strongly with roughly 2.6 million viewers, morale has dipped after at least nine staff members were let go as part of Disney’s ongoing cost-cutting efforts.
The strain doesn’t stop with politics. Since relocating to ABC’s Hudson Square headquarters, The View has been forced to share studio space with The Tamron Hall Show, causing friction over dressing rooms, taping schedules, and guest logistics. Some insiders claim the arrangement has created unnecessary competition, though others say both teams are managing to work through the challenges professionally.
Staffers are also unhappy with cramped offices, long commutes, and limited resources. With job security uncertain and internal pressures mounting, The View now faces a pivotal question: will it maintain its sharp political edge, or adapt to ABC’s shifting priorities?
