‘This is the last time you’ll ever see me’ Ellen DeGeneres with a shocking announcement

Ellen DeGeneres Bids Farewell After 40 Years: “This Is the Last Time You’ll See Me”

After over four decades in the spotlight, Ellen DeGeneres has officially announced her retirement from entertainment, marking the end of a storied—and sometimes stormy—career. Speaking at a press conference in Santa Clara, California, the 66-year-old comedian confirmed that her current stand-up tour, “Ellen’s Last Stand…Up,” will be her final curtain call.

“No. This is the last time you’ll see me,” Ellen said firmly when asked about future plans. “After my Netflix special, I don’t want any more. I’m leaving. Goodbye.”

Despite fan pleas for her to reconsider, DeGeneres offered no further details and remained resolute.

Her retirement comes on the heels of a major scandal that damaged her once-unshakable brand. In 2020, multiple allegations surfaced about a toxic workplace environment on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, including reports of intimidation and mistreatment. Though DeGeneres addressed the claims publicly, the fallout led to a sharp drop in viewership and the eventual cancellation of the show.

Still, her legacy includes pioneering LGBTQ+ representation, multiple Emmy Awards, and a significant influence on daytime television.

As Ellen steps away, she leaves behind a complex but indelible mark on American pop culture.
