Keith Urban Honors Fan’s Sobriety With Emotional Montreal Tribute
Keith Urban turned his Lasso Montreal festival set into an unforgettable night when he paused mid-show to honor a fan’s powerful recovery journey. From the stage, Urban spotted a young girl holding a sign that read: “MY DAD HAS BEEN CLEAN FOR 1,384 DAYS.”
When cameras zoomed in, her father — Mike — was seen beaming through tears. Urban, who has spoken openly about his own struggles with addiction, immediately recognized the significance. “First of all, what a proud daughter. That’s a daddy-daughter moment I dream of,” Urban said before stepping off stage.
He made his way through the crowd, hugged Mike, and led the entire stadium of 30,000 in chanting his name. The intimate moment quickly turned into a collective celebration of resilience.
Urban then told the audience: “I don’t have a song about being 1,384 days sober, but I do have one about someone’s very first day.” He launched into “Winning Streak” from his Beautifully Broken album, dedicating it to Mike.
What began as a concert became a moving reminder: recovery deserves to be celebrated, and music has the power to lift those victories higher.
