Eric Trump Says White House Cost Family Billions, Hints at Future Candidacy

Eric Trump claims his father’s political journey has cost the Trump family billions—not made them richer. In a recent interview with Financial Times, the 41-year-old suggested the Trump name may remain in politics beyond Donald Trump’s presidency.

“Honestly, I think we would have had far more zeros attached to our name if my father had never gone into politics,” Eric said, citing “opportunity costs, legal expenses, and emotional toll.”

Despite Donald Trump now serving his second term as U.S. President, Eric hinted at his own potential ambitions.

“Would I want my kids to go through what I’ve been through? If yes, I think I could do it,” he noted, adding, “Others in the family could, too.”

When asked if 2024 marked the end of the Trump name in politics, he responded cryptically, “I don’t know… Time will tell.”

Eric emphasized the decision is deeply personal and not just about politics, but about protecting loved ones from public scrutiny—a cost he’s felt firsthand.
