Teenagers Found Dead in Arizona Forest: Police Investigating Tragic Double Homicide
Authorities are investigating the tragic deaths of two Arizona teenagers found in the Tonto National Forest, as their deaths have now been confirmed as homicides.
The bodies of 18-year-old Pandora Kjolsrud and 17-year-old Evan Clark were discovered on the morning of Tuesday, May 27, near Mount Ord, about 90 minutes from Phoenix. According to the Maricopa County Medical Examiner, both teens died from gunshot wounds on May 26, following a Memorial Day camping trip.
The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that the case is being treated as suspicious, with a full investigation underway. “We are focused on a thorough and careful investigation to ensure justice for the victims and their loved ones,” authorities stated.
In the wake of their loss, GoFundMe pages have been launched to support the grieving families. Evan’s mother, Sandra Malibu Sweeney, shared a heartfelt tribute: “Evan was witty, intelligent, and had a heart of gold. He was my only child… my world.”
Pandora, described as a vibrant, music-loving spirit, was known for her love of animals and the outdoors. “Her smile was contagious, and her kindness unforgettable,” her family wrote.
