Angel Reese Faces Criticism Over High Rent and WNBA Salary
Angel Reese, former LSU Tigers star and now a WNBA player, has garnered attention for her financial situation. The 22-year-old recently went viral after reuniting with former Sky teammate Kysre Gondrezick at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in New York City.
During an Instagram Live session, Reese opened up about her earnings, sparking controversy. She stated, “Hating pays my bills, baby,” implying her income comes from outside the WNBA. Reese humorously admitted, “I don’t even think [the WNBA salary] pays one of my bills,” revealing that her rent alone is $8,000, which left many viewers in shock.
Reese’s WNBA salary for the 2024 season is $73,439, a fraction of her $1.8 million NIL value from her LSU days. Fans expressed concern over her spending habits, with one user commenting, “$8k for rent? That’s insane.” Others suggested she seek financial advice.
Despite the criticism, Reese remains financially successful, largely due to her NIL deals, making her one of the top-earning athletes off the court.
