LeBron James Breaks Michael Jordan’s Record for Most 30-Point Games
LeBron James added another milestone to his illustrious career by breaking Michael Jordan’s record for the most 30-point games in NBA history. With his 563rd such performance during the Lakers’ 119-102 victory over the Atlanta Hawks, James tallied 30 points, 3 rebounds, and 8 assists.
Anthony Davis Teases LeBron
Lakers’ star Anthony Davis couldn’t resist poking fun at LeBron after the historic achievement. In a post-game interview, Davis joked:
“It bothers me, but it took him seven more seasons… Obviously, it’s a hell of an accomplishment. He’s probably number one in everything at this point.”
LeBron Reflects on Passing Jordan
LeBron has often acknowledged his admiration for Jordan, the inspiration behind his iconic No. 23 jersey. Reflecting on surpassing his idol, James said:
“I wear 23 because of him. MJ’s fadeaway was left-shouldered; I made mine right-shouldered—just two masters of their craft.”
LeBron Continues to Dominate at 40
At age 40, James still plays at an elite level, averaging 24.1 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 8.9 assists this season. His contributions, alongside Anthony Davis, are vital in keeping the Lakers’ playoff hopes alive.
With more records on the horizon, LeBron’s legacy as one of the greatest continues to grow.
