
Ambulance Rollover in Dougherty County Injures Eight, Including Newborn
DOUGHERTY COUNTY, Ga. – A morning ambulance crash left eight people injured, including a newborn, at the intersection of Pine Avenue and Monroe Street early Saturday.
At approximately 7 a.m., a Dougherty County EMS ambulance was involved in a multi-vehicle collision, overturning from the impact. Witnesses described the scene as chaotic, with other emergency units quickly arriving to assist. Inside the ambulance were three EMS personnel and two patients, one of whom was a newborn, heightening concerns for bystanders and responders.
Despite the severity, officials confirmed that all eight individuals are expected to survive, with no life-threatening injuries reported. The infant was transported to the hospital for observation.
Dougherty County EMS activated emergency protocols immediately, and additional units provided care on-site before transporting victims.
“We are grateful that no serious injuries occurred and appreciate the swift response of first responders,” said EMS Director James Gibney.
The Georgia State Patrol has launched an investigation to determine the cause, reviewing traffic conditions, driver actions, and vehicle factors. Authorities urge patience as they examine witness statements and surveillance footage.
