FBI Seeks Public Help After Charlie Kirk Fatally Shot at Utah University
Charlie Kirk, 31, the conservative activist and Donald Trump ally, was fatally shot during a Q&A event at Utah Valley University on September 10, 2025. Kirk was struck by a single bullet to the neck and was pronounced dead after being transported to the hospital by his security team.
The FBI and Utah Department of Public Safety released details about the shooter’s escape. Video footage shows the suspect climbing to the roof of a nearby building before fleeing into a surrounding neighborhood. Investigators recovered what they believe to be the high-powered bolt-action rifle used in the attack from a wooded area. Trace evidence—including shoe impressions, a forearm imprint, and a palm print—was collected from the rooftop.
Authorities have released images and video of the suspect and urge anyone with information to contact the FBI. Commissioner Beau Mason described the male suspect as “college-aged,” emphasizing that law enforcement is pursuing all leads.
President Donald Trump called Kirk “loved and admired by all” and described the killing as “a dark moment for America,” expressing grief and anger over the assassination.
