💔 The Weight of Grief: Anaya’s Last Tears
Rain pattered softly on the tin roof as mournful trumpets echoed through the Sharma family courtyard. At the center rested a gold-painted coffin, holding Anaya, the devoted 25-year-old daughter-in-law who had died in childbirth. Her in-laws, Meera and Rajan Sharma, were stricken with grief, recalling her endless care and affection.
The tragedy struck suddenly. Anaya had gone into labor, her cries piercing the night. By the time she reached the hospital, both mother and child were beyond saving. The family was shattered.
When the pallbearers attempted to lift the coffin, it would not budge, as though some invisible force anchored it. A soft murmur spread among the crowd:
“She is still in mourning… she’s not ready to leave.”
At the priest’s urging, the lid was opened. Anaya’s face, serene yet marked by tears, revealed her silent sorrow. Aryan, her husband, fell to his knees, confessing:
“That night… she found out about the other woman… I promised her… I failed. I’m so sorry, Anaya.”
Suddenly, the coffin shifted gently, and the bearers lifted it without effort. The priest nodded:
“She’s let go.”
Even as the funeral procession moved forward, Aryan’s heart carried an unhealable pain — a lifelong echo of love, guilt, and the tears of a wife he had lost.
