Melania Trump Criticizes Obama Administration Over White House Transition

As Donald Trump prepared for his second inauguration as the 47th President of the United States, Melania Trump revisited the challenges she faced during her first move into the White House. In an interview with Fox & Friends, she claimed the Obama administration withheld crucial information during the 2016 transition, making the process “challenging.”

“The first time was difficult. We didn’t have much of the information. It was upheld from us by the previous administration. But this time, I have everything,” Melania stated, suggesting the Obamas complicated the handover.

She previously detailed similar frustrations in her memoir, explaining that her team was denied timely access to the White House residence in December 2016. According to her, responses came weeks late and were filled with errors, delaying renovations until after the Trumps had already moved in.

Her account contrasts with Michelle Obama’s, who wrote in Becoming that she offered guidance to Melania, but was declined. At the time, Melania’s spokesperson insisted she preferred relying on her own team.

Despite past tensions, Melania confirmed she will remain active as First Lady during Trump’s second term, balancing her duties in Washington with family life in New York and Palm Beach.
