Elon Musk’s Double-Hat Joke at Trump Cabinet Meeting Sparks Online Mockery
Billionaire Elon Musk is back in the spotlight — and not in a good way. At a recent Trump administration cabinet meeting, Musk, now a “special government employee,” made headlines for an awkward attempt at humor that quickly went viral.
With navy and red “Gulf of America” hats laid out before attendees, Musk stacked both hats on his head, drawing a chuckle from former President Donald Trump, who said,
“Elon, I love the double hat. He’s the only one that can do that and get away with it.”
Musk followed up with,
“Well, Mr. President, they say I wear a lot of hats. It’s true. Even my hat has a hat.”
The internet, however, wasn’t amused. The clip racked up over 2.7 million views, with reactions ranging from cringeworthy to outright embarrassing.
One viral tweet read, “He wants to be funny so bad — and it’s the one thing he’ll never be able to buy.”
Social media users compared Musk’s joke to a school kid seeking validation — and failing miserably.
